Fireplace

Not been blipping for the last few days. I think I was just emotionally drained by the planning committee blow and needed a while to get things into perspective and calm down. Anyway, after a few good exhilarating walks round the cliffs and a couple of mornings of baking, a bit of knitting and a garden club meeting, my equilibrium has been restored!

At the garden club we had a speaker on garden invertebrates, absolutely fascinating. What an enormous number of different woodlice, worms, spiders, beetles etc share our gardens with us! I shall examine them more closely and take more notice of them in future. I shall keep a small matchbox about my person in case I feel the need to take them in the house! (anyone remember Alexander Beetle?)

This is the ruin at the top of the hill, again. Ollie and I sheltered in here from the torrential rain we got caught in on our walk this morning. Unfortunately the fire had long gone out.

Still in a baking frame of mind, I made cheese scones for lunch. Just the thing on a wet weekend!
