Simply Me

300 Miles!!

A chance conversation with my cousin, Helen, last week made me realise that I needed new running trainers.

Apparently you need to replace your running shoes after about 300-500 miles! Sounds like a lot, but if you divide 300 by 52 weeks, it's only 5.7 miles a week. I reckon I've easily run more than that. In marathon training mode, I run 20-30 miles a week.

A quick google search and I found that quite a lot of people start to get 'niggles' in their shins, ankles and knees when their shoes begin to run out. Hmmm it would seem that I didn't need to see a sports Physio after all, I just needed a new pair of trainers!

I have quite flat feet and went through about 8 different pairs until I found the ones for me last time. I see no need to change them. I managed to find the exact pair again for half price online. Bonus.

Putting them on today, it's amazing how different they feel. You can tell now that the old ones were definitely on their way out.
