Rescue on dry land!?

No, it's the Lyme Regis Lifeboat, 'The Pearl of Dorset', parading through the town. Next week a new Altlantic 85 arrives and this one (an Atlantic 75) will be retired after 14 years of service. Its been launched active service over 500 times and saved over 50 lives.
For 6 years of these 14 I had the privilege of serving on the crew and have many happy memories of this lifeboat. I've been in mid air (launched of big waves!), winched to and from a Coastguard helicopter, absolutely frozen and roasting (depending on the time of year) and of course helping people in need of rescue.
Its great to see so many people come to say farewell to this fantastic boat.
