The Wonders of Wicken

Lovelier large, I think.

Today we had a walk from Wicken Fen to Upware. There was some glorious sunshine and definitely a feel of spring in the air.

We saw lots of munjack deer, also the other white bottomed kind of deer.

We saw hares, in two different fields, the first field was brown and muddy, not much for a hare to eat there. The second hare was in a field at the very end of the walk as darkness was falling at Wicken itself.

We were also lucky enough to spot an owl at dusk, a barn owl, we think. It was flying following the trees along the edge of a small bit of woodland.

The walk and the wildlife and the weather made us yearn for a bit of camping.
