Bure Valley Railway outing today with Ruth, her choice! Not the same as the North Norfolk Railway ten days ago, this is a 'Toy Railway', ultra narrow guage built for tourists. I am moved by the blast from the past where steam railways are concerned, but at least this does run along nine miles of the old Midland & Great Northern trackbed between Aylsham and Wroxham. The NNR also runs on the old M&GN network but it has retained the guage, track and buildings, giving the whole an authentic feel.

Any train buffs out there remember the uncomplimentary nickname for the M&GN?
