Fluffing.

Our "new" rug which has migrated from the bedroom in Glasgow to the living room in Edinburgh. It is a couple of years old now but still produces tons and tons of fluff that just attaches itself to everything.

Now I really have to get the Dyson out every couple of days as it is obvious immediately if the housework hasn't been done.

I suspect this was Mrs Al's plan all along.
