Gunner Thomas M Dickson RFA

On my way round to middleman's for a marvellous Sunday tea, I popped into North Merchiston Cemetery for a wander round. It's a fairly depressing place - very few of the graves are maintained and the majority of the headstones aren't even upright, but this one caught my eye. I like the ivy, carved into the stone and growing on the wall.

Erected by James Dickson in memory of our dear son, Gunner Thomas M Dickson RFA, killed in action in France, 9th September 1918, aged 22.
Also his father, James Dickson, died 17th May 1945, aged 77.
