Final Ascent

Day 25: Something Pink.

This was the final ascent up to the peak of Helvellyn from Striding Edge - the ridge seen in the background. I do like a bit of scrambling, so this was nicer than a steady walk up, and the (small) section of snow/ice left over at the top was a bit of a bonus, too.

Amusingly enough as we were finishing up the ice section we were caught by a local photographer and ended up on the Lake District Weather website. Our group can be seen on the snow and another of our groups can be seen further down, still on Striding Edge itself. Strange how things like this pop up, eh?
