An Oscar Night
I was thoroughly excited that Meryl Streep won for the best lead actress for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady. Streep holds the record with 17 for the most Academy Award nominations by any actor. She is an outstanding human and I think her acceptance speech proved that as well as the standing ovation her peers gave her.
I was also thrilled that The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore won for the best animated short film. I had posted a link to it several weeks ago in my blip. My students are to watch it and write about during this current week.
It's been a good night. I love watching the Academy Awards and the 84th was grand!
Good night from Southern California.
