Paint swirls
Wet, miserable, busy day today, school runs both morning and evening, with a great session out with the guests all day, hence the late blip.
This was taken at one of my favourite places on a rainy day, Threlkeld quarry and mining museum, a bizarre collection of old excavators, trucks etc. The joy as a photographer is that, armed with a macro lens, you can never run out of abstract subjects, so instead of looking at the place as a pile of junk, I look upon it as a canvas of pictures waiting to be discovered.
This picture is part of the door of an old excavator that they have started to rub down to "restore" (they never finish them) exposing many different layers of paint and colour changes through the years - the subject of the photo is maximun 2" high.
