The attraction of mealworms

Here I am, sitting in the hide again, far too late in the afternoon and hoping that the live mealworms will attract the birds to feed. One robin was the only visitor in the 45 minutes I was there and here he is. I could not resist including him as he flew away with the grub in his mouth. I know it is not sharp enough but catching some action is great fun.

Another day I need to be out earlier and have more time to sit.

For those who are interested in our hedgehog (Lucky Max) - he/she is beginning to gain weight and is a lot more lively than when he/she arrived. Dried cat food is rejected but tinned cat food is devoured with alacrity.
