Wet red beetle
We had a good time at today's music group session. Today's host had hoped that we'd retire to the garden after the music for a few bevvies, but the continuing bad weather had different ideas, dumping non-stop rain on us and even throwing in a few claps of thunder for good measure, so we just had a couple of glasses of wine in the cosiness of the music room.
Over in Carl's afterwards we decided to go out for a bite to eat. Our first choice was a recently opened Thai place which had dropped a takeaway menu in the letterbox, but they turned out not to provide a sit-down service. We checked out a few other places before finally settling for the Rasam in Glasthule, an Indian place we've gone to a few times before and been impressed with. They didn't have a table available then and there, so we retired to the pub downstairs to wait. The menu has always tended towards adding new twists to traditional Indian food, and it's been very successful at striking a balance between authentic and experimental, but tonight we found it unconvincing and just a pit too dumbed-down. I may just have expressed my displeasure a little bit too forcefully.
