Proud Grey Heron

I stopped off at one of my favourite watering holes on the way home from gym this morning. It's a favourite spot for all the gulls, herons and cormorants to peck in the sand at low tide. This one, however was just sitting there contemplating life, as they so often do.

I have been invited to go along with Bahrains top birding guy on Friday where he'll be catching and ringing the local birds. From him I'll learn where the local birding sites are and hopefully start expanding my birding knowledge.
