It's a sign...

...of modern life that we often don't notice things in our everyday environment. So, on this "bonus" day of 2012, it seems serendipitous that I noticed something today that I have never seen before. Despite being born in Perth, having lived here for the majority of my life and having lived in this part of the city for nearly 8 years, I have never noticed this old street sign before. There are two modern signs down at pavement level, but I had never seen this tall, faded, old, cream-coloured signpost before, with its creeping plant decoration. But I noticed it today and I wondered whether there are more of these dotted around the city, waiting to be (re)discovered. And I am glad it has been preserved - it may be a little faded but that makes it all the more appealing.
