Science is expensive
Busy day today with the start of a big important experiment. Makes me a little nervous when it costs so much just to prepare the sample. I used up all these vials of trypsin (to digest all the proteins from my cell extracts), maybe £200 and that was just a tiny bit of today's costs.
For any life scientists even vaguely interested, the experiment is a temporal phospho-proteomic SILAC study looking at the changes caused by the differentiation inducing molecule DIF, in the slime mold Dictyostelium
