Butoh

This is our favourite Japanese restaurant in Sao Paulo. We came regularly when we lived here and always come back as often as we can when we're back. It's not big and we always eat at the bar, always served by Fabiano, pictured here. On some nights (not tonight), there's live Brazilian bossa nova music and the two musicians have to climb up a wall ladder to a little platform above the entrance to strut their stuff. We've tried a few Japanese restaurants in SP and none beat this for food, service and value for money. Tonight there's even enough for a little doggy bag for my lunch tomorrow!
