I felt like a proper tourist on this visit to London - it was great!

Me and Felix's dad took Felix there so he could see where he was born. He wanted to see the Queen (we're not exactly Royalists, so I've no idea why he was so fixated) - he thought it was a given that we'd be visiting her - however, we managed to distract him with a trip to Hamleys to spend his Christmas money from Granny.
It was a nightmare in that shop - but he had an hour time limit and we got out of there (with a Mickey Mouse Camper Van) within the hour.

It felt really weird when we came out - disorientating with ringing ears, blinking in the cold light of day - like stepping out of a noisy club into the morning. I felt a bit traumatised so we went for a cup of tea.

That evening we met up with an old friend and work colleague, JB. He's AGM of a beautiful Pub/Restaurant called the Hawksmoor in the City. The whole place just feels like a step back in time - these kinds of (genuine) 'olde worlde' places are one of the things I love most about London - all part of it's atmospheric charm. It was great to see him - seeing old friends always gives me a little shock at how quickly time passes.

We walked back to Liverpool Street through the City, which is so peaceful at night and took photographs. This was my favourite of the day.
