Sempé
We took the 72 bus to the Hôtel de ville (City hall) this morning to see the exhibit of Sempé drawings showing there. We've tried to go before but we've always been discouraged by the long line-ups. Paris is very quiet this week as a lot of people are away for the winter holidays so today we (only) waited for 30 minutes. It was crowded when we got inside but well worth it. Sempé's drawings are so sweet, it was fun to see an exhibit that made all the visitors smile. This photo shows the hall of drawings Sempé did for covers of The New Yorker.
After the show we headed to our favourite deli in the Marais, Pitzman, on rue Pavée, for delicious falafel sandwiches. We got a table there right away, proof again that Paris is particularly quiet this week.
