Broken Cross
As someone who has views on religion that would make Richard Dawkins blush I do find mysef drawn, in a photographic sense, to all of it's symbols and iconography. Almost every town and village in the country has a cross or a crucifix, usually situated at the top of a hill or a mound. These places become the central focus of Easter Holy Week where the re-eneactment of Jesus Christ's crucifixion is carried out. Indeed in some towns, although officially frowned upon, real flagellations and crucifixions take place. This image is from my own town of La Nucia on Mont Calvri.
