I heart courgettes

Just back from a great summer on an organic farm in Brittany, France in order to brush up my French before I start teacher training on Monday. There is a selection of back blips starting here for anyone interested.

These are presents to send to my chums at Kervilon (the name of the organic farm). Thanks to Luckyjim for the badge design. Just a bit of fun as it was the courgette harvest in July so we ate courgettes in one form or another with every meal, prizes going for quantity of courgettes used and originality of recipe. Thanks to LLP for the fantastic muffin recipe (I scored highly for originality) and to BB for her delicious courgette relish recipe (scoring highly for quantity).

Off to put these in the post together with some homemade tablet.

Some fun French phrases including fruit and veg:

tomber dans les pommes (literally - to fall in the apples) - to faint
être dans les choux (literally - to be in the cabbages) - to be lost
raconter des salades (literally - to tell lettuces) - to talk a load of nonsense
avoir la tête comme une pastèque (literally - to have a head like a watermelon) - to have too much on your mind.
