Bamburgh Castle

We went to Bamburgh beach today for a picnic and windswept walk on what is the nicest beach for walking that I have seen.

No picture does it justice - it really is unbelievably massive and always seems quiet for that very reason.

This is the Norman castle that overlooks the beach - it too is massive. I first saw it on Tony Robinson's "Time Team" TV show and it looked amazing.
