Veggie Kingdom
I took GP with me to Pillars of Hercules in Falkland. I wanted to buy some of their delicious produce for the weekend. The day has been very mild and I thought it would be a good opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea outside on the veranda, but we were too late for the cafe.
I received the 2011 copy of my alma mater's magazine in the post today. I always flick straight to the announcements page. Sadly, there is an announcement concerning the death of someone only a year older than myself. Worryingly, I can't seem to put a face to the name. I'll need to ask Dot, who is always able to identify former pupils and give a detailed description. I also read about the passing of our much feared Deputy Head Mistress.
On a brighter note, there is photographic evidence that our long suffering chemistry teacher remains. Miss Losty's lovely face continues to appear amongst the thriving community, as does Mrs Blue's, as she tinkles the ivories. Marika is still playing her lyra and winning awards. There is no mention of Miss Jackson whose famously overused phrase was " Girrrls! I've been teaching here for over quuaaarter of a century...". This is all strangely comforting.
