In a country where security is somewhat of an issue and kidnappings are not altogether uncommon. It is no surprise, that people who can afford it, sometimes put their faith in their own security, rather than that of the state.

So, it's not surprising really, that in an area as affluent as Polanco, there are a number of places where you can get bespoke armour for your vehicle.

Needless to say, that the gorgeous Beetle is not the type of car driven by the kind of people who need such protection.
