Lyttleton
The weather abated somewhat today, although, it was still very very windy at the top of the Port Hills, as I discovered.
Procrastinated as long as I could, then around 11 set out for a ride. Up Rapaki, along the Summit Road and due to a sore back I considered coming down Kennedys. But I stopped, stretched, then decided to keep going. Rode the length of the Summit Road to the top of the (appropriately named) B*stard, then turned around and came back, finally coming down Kennedys. 42k, 860m vertical rise. Next weeks race is 47K, 600ish vertical, but all off road.
So I am not fully ready for next week, but that's OK, my focus is on April 21 and the Lake Hawea race. Next week is just a warm-up ;-)
