Surprise!

I was wandering past on my way to show a friend the front garden when I spotted this. My Japanese Quince is flowering!

This is a lovely deep red one that flowers all year long and produces really big fruits which I use to make quince jelly and to set other jellies. It doesn't have quite the same flavour as a real quince but is terrific for jellies.
