Public recreation area

So often we drive by these dedicated areas close to Portree that are for our recreation, yet here they are. One is so familiar with their being there that we forget just how pleasant it can be to use them.

Of course it makes a huge difference to have some sunshine. Today we have seen sun followed by heavy rain turning through sleat to snow. This coated the hills turning them white. Yet by the time we had done our chores the sun had come out and most of the snow had melted away again.

In the picture my wife is looking towards the Storr from above the pond which is in the angle between the Dunvegan/Uig road and the entrance to the re-cycling depot. Opposite you can see some of the fencing arount the Portree Agricultural Auction Mart.
