Sunday afternoon apple cake

I don't often bake but suddenly had the urge...this was an old favourite from the days when I did provide puddings for the family, apple cake with a strudel topping and thick double cream. You can tell I am not a food photographer (I muted the colours a wee bit too much) but it did taste good!
