Flighty Grebe

Thought I'd include an unusual shot of a Great Crested Grebe, which are, at this time of year usually seen performing their famous "Weedy Dance" where the Male and female perform mimicked actions including one with weed in their bills whilst standing upright in the water.

This shot was a lucky capture when a bird I was watching, at Newport Wetlands, was spooked into flight by a passer by (wheeling a pushchair complete with bawling infant).

It's unusual for me to see a Great Crested Grebe in flight so although the image is a rear shot it is quite pleasing, especially as it shows the wing pattern
