Bilal Gunj (Day 3)
Bilal Gunj is the biggest market of Pakistan for automobile parts. It is considered that there is no such spare part which is not available in the market.
Bilal Butt works in a shop owned by his brother. Before his brother (known as Butt sahib), the shop was owned by their grand father. Don't think that their father would be doing some other business. He has an other shop in the same market. According to them, there is not a single member of the family who has done some other business. The love for automobiles is running in their blood. Bilal Butt is working in the shop from the age of 7 and Butt sahib doesn't even remember from when he was working. Butt sahib is really an interesting and jolly kind of man. He speaks with enormous passion and excitement though cant pronounciate many alphabets of urdu (like many typical old lahorians). He didn't get any formal education and is proud of it. According to him, his family want him to get at least basic education but he couldn't think of anything else than automobiles.
How difficult it proved to be deal with the clever people in Bilal Gunj... How many problems have to face for taking an engine to Sarghodha... How funny it was to escape from the commission agents in workshop... and how risky to take the car back from Sarghoda to Lahore (200 Km almost) at 3 AM with sleepy eyes...... To tell all this, the blip page is not enough.
