Primetime

Got my 105mm prime lens back yesterday. Mark borrowed it last September for a couple of days. This was going to be yesterday's shot but then it snowed!

This is the remains of a finial that adorned the top of an old Victorian building. I acquired it 16 years ago but despite lashings of primer and paint it's not survived. It was well shot when I got it so at least I've given it a little longer life.

The building was a splendid industrial 'hall' and the finial was on top of an alloy dovecot type hood which disguised the chimney from the boiler room. Unfortunately when it was demolished the contractors threw the whole thing down to the ground. Philistines!
