Melting away....!

I spent this afternoon baking chocolate butterfly cakes for which I needed to melt chocolate and I also made a victoria sponge.

My first attempt to melt the chocolate by microwaving failed, I burnt the bottom of the microwave saucepan - the first time I've ever used it!

Second attempt was by the traditional method, hot bowl over a pan of boiling water - success :-)

I'm taking the cakes into work tomorrow, hope they like them.
