Western Gate, Leiden

The Morspoort is the western gate of Leiden, South Holland, Netherlands, located on the Morssingel (singel = canal). The stone gate was completed in 1669 in mannerist style based on a design of architect Willem van der Helm from Leiden. The name is derived from the Morsch, the marshy meadow outside Leiden.

The boat in the foreground was bobbing in the water, hence the blur.
