Quiet contemplation and Icelandic fishing captains

Backblipped 5th March

A horribly early start at 2.30am however had managed a reasonable sleep. Breakfast and then waiting for the coach which was meant to pick us up at 3.30am but turned up at 4.00am!

Got to the airport, checked in and then had the most chaotic security I've ever seen!
Had a wee doze on the flight to Casablanca and actually felt quite good when we arrived there.

Then we had the chaos of moving through transit and people that queue jump!

Queued for ages and then when the first of our group that hit security we discovered the passport lady at Ouarzazte hadn't stamped our passports and we all had to leave the queue, find someone to sort them out and then re-queue! And as I was one of the first through I missed the drama of someone being arrested!

I then had one of the most enjoyable times at an airport! We had 6 hours from landing to take off and the time just flew by! Lots of shopping, lots of journal catching up going on and a spot of Blockbusters! Which I won!

Before we knew it our flight was being called and then we were on the final leg.

As our meal was being served I noticed the guy beside me had a slight Scottish accent going on and discovered he was half Scottish, half Iceland, was the captain of an Icelandic fishing boat in Mauritania and was going home for 2 months after 2 months working! Fascinating conversation and the flight flew by.

Quick move through passport control and then long wait for our luggage. A lot of our group got theirs quite quickly and there was lots of hugging and fond farewells but there was obviously one last lot that was delayed as a whole group off the plane were waiting.

Eventually it came through and off I headed to meet James. Was so lovely to see him again - though not sure if he thought the same as I talked constantly the whole way home!

And got home to a tidy house, flowers and champagne chilling in the fridge.
What a perfect way to end an incredible experience.
