Mars in Leo (65/366)
So my friend has set me a challenge of shooting as many planets as possible this year. Along with Earth, Jupiter & Venus, this is 4 of 9. Yes, I'm old-school, so I still think Pluto is a planet!
Mars can currently be found near the Leo constellation. Look for the plough/the big dipper, but imagine it as a saucepan with a handle. Now, imagine that the pan has a hole in it, and is leaking. Follow the leak, and you'll find a backwards-question mark. That's you in Leo.
Mars is hanging around Leo, climbing in the East. It was at its brightest on March 3rd, but is still amongst the brightest things in the sky, red, and not twinkling.
Thanks to Astronomy Central for the planet viewing info, and AstroCentral for the navigation advice.
