My living room window overlooks this rooftop where workmen are repairing the area. In Israel, most of the buildings, especially in the city, have flat roofs. It is rather understandable as the sun is shining from April to November with extremely rare occasions of rain. In most cases, people can relax on the roof most of the year. Some apartment buildings have rooftop gardens and are used as places to enjoy the outdoors while still being in the city. That is another thing about most cities in Israel, there are lots of parks and wooded areas for summer fun.

This apartment below me is probably leaking a bit as it is fairly old and in need of a new roof. Every building in Jerusalem is required to be built with Jerusalem stone thus extreme winds do not effect the structures much. It is very rare to see a wooden structure in Israel. The big bad wolf cannot blow the house down like he does in the states with all their tornadoes and devastation these days.
