This morning I had my Pre-operative appointment at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough for my 'elective' (elective as in the sense I have no say in the matter) c-section on Friday.

Because of my recent high blood pressure issues there was the threat of keeping me in for an emergency procedure. Having the baby a little bit earlier would have been nice, but we've got all our arrangements and childcare in place for Friday and I really wanted to avoid any unnecessary rushing about.

When I got there my blood pressure was 139 over 94 and the midwife was concerned. However I was able to persuade her to retake it after another five minutes. Basck down to 120 over 77, so the doctor was more than happy to let the section go ahead on Friday as planned.
