A Weekend Break - Back Blip #1

As we indulged in a mammoth bout of house-clearing and DIY at half -term, we thought it would be good to get away for a break. We chose Arnside for our long weekend, as we had passed through the town three years ago and promised ourselves that we would go back.

We stayed at The Willowfield ,which is at the quiet end of the promenade and we would recommend it. Welcoming hosts, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts and the opportunity to bird watch from your bed!

Our plan was, on Friday a circular walk from the promenade, taking in Arnside Knott, then Leighton Moss main site on Saturday, with a visit to the Morecambe Bay hides and a quick twitch of the near-by Glossy Ibis on Sunday morning.

As our evening "orientation" walk was rained off - we wondered how wet our plan would get us.
