At the Braes

Forecast for rain later, so went for walk up the Braes this morning. A lot of the paths are still closed as they are still removing the fallen trees from the January storm. They are also repairing damage to paths and steps damaged in the storm. I usually do a circuit of the paths but as that was impossible today I enjoyed following smaller paths I haven't been on before.

There were the usual birds of the tit family but I also heard a woodpecker drumming. Towards the end of the walk the noise heard changed from birdsong to alarms going off everywhere. A large area of Paisley had a power cut and this had set them off. By the time I got home the power was back on so I had a welcome cup of tea.

Tonight going to a illustrated talk entitled The Italian Job (the Matterhorn) by the Paisley Hillwalking Club.
