Dolac friut and veg Market

Another back blip from our visit to Zagreb. This fruit and veg market was definitely a favourite place for us. so colourful and ag reat place to meet the people of Zagreb. The banter across the stalls was a treat and they were all so welcoming and cheerful . I do think John's kilt might have had something to do with that!

We bought fresh fruit every day and went to the market downstairs for the lovely bread and cold meat. This part of the market was a real eye opener, so many butcher stalls and bread stalls. The dairy produce area was kept in another part of the under ground market. There must have been at least 4 long " streets" the length of the market and several across the way as well all full of cheeses, wines , old style butchers and bread stalls. Very busy with so many Croatians doing their daily shopping. Again everyone so happy and smiling. What a treat not to be in a big supermarket!
