Yes, but which one turns the TV on?

It wasn't long ago that Sonya and I were attempting to watch a movie at Mom & Dad's... and miserably failing. Neither of us had cable TV and therefore had no idea the ordeal that comes with such. First and foremost, you have one remote control for each device.... cable box, blu-ray player, television, & surround sound. One turns on the television, one changes the channel, one does volume and the last one plays your DVD's. It's insanity - why hasn't someone invented a remote that all remotes are programed into - one remote for all functions... is that too much to ask?

Many mornings, since installing Dish Network, I find Colby in the living room looking confused and irritated at the vast selection of black and silver remotes. He sleepily looks up at me and asks "Mom, which one turns on the TV?". I chuckle and sit beside him, hoping that between the two of us, we'll figure it out... we always do :)
