A Writer's Life

Drive-by pictures

Today, my extraordinary grandmother turned 95. She is in pain, and the recovery will no doubt be on the long side. But she is all there, her mind as quick as ever (though she still gets a bit confused between her drug-dreams and reality, but we're not going to count that against her. She had enough of hard times in the past few days). I did get some work done, which is a pretty good idea at this point: I was well in advance and suddenly find myself rushed. The next 3'weeks will have to be efficient.

Then, I drove to a funeral parlor to pay my respect to a third (or fourth?) cousin who died in his sleep at 44, leaving 2 young boys. On my father's side, men tend to have their heart give out on them...

The drive did me some good: quiet, music, and drive-by photography, where you don't know for sure what you are taking, since it is rather prudent to keep your eyes on the road.

Thank you so much for your support the last few days. It has meant a lot to me!
