Up close

When I cant think of anything else to do , my instinct says get in close, and if that doesn't work , then obviously I haven't gotten close enough.

One of my favourite little tools for this kind of stuff is a small piece of thick cardboard, it's 11 x 16 cm, one side is white the other is shiny silver. This was under the trees in very dull light, the shiny side just throws enough light into the shadows to lift them out. Most recommended kit for less than $1.
