Robert Fergusson

This is Robert Fergusson Scotland's forgotten poet. He inspired Robert Burns to become a poet. He died in obscure circumstances but reputed to have recieved a head injury when under the influence of alcohol. He then became insane and was sectioned to an asylum where he died after only a few weeks. He was only 24. I had not heard of him until I saw this statue.
