Weather conditions and especially sea- and swell conditions can change very rapidly on the Northern North Sea, as you can see on this picture. Just in time, the fully laden material barge was unmoored and departed for Teeside. The Hermod moved out away from the platform by pulling herself forward on her anchor wires. After that, her cranes were put down in the boom rests, two tugs were connected to the bow, and she was ballasted down to a draft of 24 meters. Ready for the wind to pick up. And that's what it did this morning. From a southerly direction increasing to 40-45 knots gusting 50 knots. Sea is building also very rapidly now. On the picture you can see our companion tug 'Blizzard' also connected and helping the Hermod to release some of the tension in her anchor wires. But a real pro can see that the windspeed is already coming down again. A pity it is just for a short time, because it will increase again to 45 knots tomorrow.
