the north wind blows

It was bright again today but bitterly cold, with occasional stinging squally showers on a fierce north wind.
We walked at the Warrens with our backs to the wind. It was deserted apart from a few gulls, and the wind swept the sand into long twisting streamers ahead of us.

The weather here is so changeable that we are obsessed with it. We never know what it will be like tomorrow, or even later today.
