To The Dump......

I love going to our recycling/dump facility.....where not only do we get to get rid of our garbage, and get money back on the beer, wine, pop bottles etc (and lots of the guests in the cabins leave empties!!!) - but there is the compost site....where you'll often find a few bald eagles flying around! Today was a banaza day.....we must have spotted about 12-15 eagles.....i took lots of shots and only 2 or 3 were worth anything....but i love the action in this one!

i need to spend some time figuring out how to take 'action' bird shots with the telephoto.....i have a hard time using the autofocus on my camera and haven't yet tried using manual focus.....i seem to loose lots of opportunity due to the camera not staying in focus and therefore not shooting!!! any tips from out there would be greatly appreciated!

it's been a wonderfully sunny day, pretty cold...but i managed to go for a really long hike. then we opened the kiln.....yeah, lots of lovely mugs, cups, bowls etc.....the showroom has been extremely sparse of late!!!
