Lichfield Cathedral from afar

It was glorious this morning so we couldn't resist going for a walk in the woods. Looking across we could see Lichfield Cathedral in the distance.

On the walk I was with a friend who I've known since University (xxxx years ago) who is staying with me. She had travelled up from London to go to the Jonas Kaufmann recital at Birmingham Symphony Hall last night.

Our Music Director, Andris Nelsons, was totally on form and it was one of the most wonderful musical experiences I have ever had.

They are taking the recital to Baden Baden, Munich, Vienna and Paris and the music lovers who will see them in those exclusive locations are in for a very special treat.

"Kindertotenlieder" (Mahler) and Richard Strauss songs showed Jonas to be the greatest tenor alive..... no exaggeration.
