Good day

Today turned out to be an unexpectedly good one.

I had been anxious about a meeting this morning, which turned out to be very straightforward - almost enjoyable.

Then I had an invitation to coffee which ended up as a three-hour lunch with a couple of former colleagues.

Sometimes everything comes together to produce such an enjoyable occasion you want to bottle it and take it around with you for those not-so-good times. The lovely company, beautiful surroundings, and delicious food and wine made it one of those occasions.

I remember seeing this quote somewhere: 'The best things in life aren't things - they're friends'. Very true.

* The picture of my freshly-ironed shirt replaces the one I would have taken had I remembered to insert a newly-charged battery into my camera for my trip out today! It is also proof to my lunch guests that it was straight back to the grindstone after the fun.
