After seeing my good friend Frieda in Scotland upload a Staffordshire jug the other day, I got to thinking. The jug she uploaded looked so familar to me somehow. I began to realize the little $3.00 cup I had picked up at the Thrift Shop (Charity shop) not too long ago had basically the same design. I looked it up online and found this . . .

The Blue Willow design depicts the charming and legendary old Chinese Blue Willow Story. The story is about an angry father pursuing his eloping daughter. At the end, the father finds the maiden and her lover on a bridge, and before his eyes, they transform into love birds and fly away together. The lovebirds can be seen on all Blue Willow designs . . .
