Enniskerry Forge

Here in one of Ireland's prettiest villages, the blacksmith toiled for many years making horseshoes and shoeing the horses, fabricating all sorts of implements and gates for the people round about and doubtless repairing the old farm carts and lastly the early motor cars.
Alas all of this is no more and the forge is now in private ownership and in pretty good condition. Built of solid Irish Granite it will still be standing when some of the houses being built today have fallen to bits.
The community leaders with whom I was meeting have their eyes on it. They want to turn it into a museum of bygone days but the lack of money means it will likely remain a dream for a long time to come.
